“Making the jump!” What it is like to leave UNIC and move to University

As a previous UNIC Pre-Master’s student I thought it would be great to share with you a little bit about what it is like to make the transition from UNIC to the University.

UNIC allowed me to improve my skills and gave me an advantage compared to other students joining directly into the MBA Degree. Having finished the Pre-Masters programme before starting my MBA, I appreciate the hard work and dedication shown by the staff at UNIC. The MBA is a demanding and challenging programme and for this reason, I would urge anyone choosing the same academic path to take their UNIC studies seriously.

Assignments are similar but emphasis is not only on academic theory but application as well. Modules like International Business Negotiations offer students simulations to enhance their knowledge whilst others like Strategic Marketing allow students to engange in authentic consulting projects.

The modules have workshops instead of lectures and one is expected to come prepared.

Workshops offer hands on learning activities allowing discussions, interaction, presentations and debate.

In addition, there are trips to other countries, raising cultural awareness in international business and to local companies to gain first hand knowledge on business operations which I find very exciting.

This all may sound a little overhwhelming but this does not mean one cannot have a good social life. It is imperative that you find a balance between the two and UNIC 100% prepares you for this.
