Health and Social Sciences

During your one-semester Pre-Master’s programme you will develop a fundamental knowledge and understanding of the basic principles relevant to your chosen masters degree. You will also develop your intellectual, practical and communication skills to support you in your onward academic studies and future career.

All students progressing onto MA Social Work will have to submit a personal statement and pass an interview before they can progress onto the University of Northampton. Students will be prepared for this as much as possible as part of their Preparing for a Career in Healthcare module which has been specifically designed to support students to pass the interview and write their personal statements and is additional to the four other Pre-Master's modules outlined on this page.
It is essential that prior to interview students arrange shadowing opportunities within their field. Please be very aware your place on this Master's is not guaranteed on being accepted to the UNIC Foundation and is entirely dependent on you passing the interview stage. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact the UNIC Team.
